International Conference ICPMAT
The International Conference on Physical Properties and Applications of Advanced Materials ICPMAT is an annual conference established by Shanghai University, Toyama University and the Japan Institute of Metals. The Institute of Scientific Instruments of the CAS is the organizer of this year's event, which will be held from 30 September to 3 October 2024.
The conference focuses on fundamental and applied research and current developments in physics and materials science, including raw materials, structural materials, functional materials, advanced characterization techniques and computational materials science. The conference aims to further explore the topics, bring the community closer together, and foster discerning discussions and new collaborations.
Notable guests and speakers at the conference include
Chaiyasit Banjongprasert, who is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics and Materials and the Head of the Materials Science Research Center at the Faculty of Science, Chiang Mai University (Thailand). His research focuses on aluminum alloys, electron microscopes, materials science, metal coatings, metallurgy, and nickel alloys. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Metallurgical Engineering from Chulalongkorn University, a Master of Metallurgy from the University of Sheffield, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Materials from the University of Oxford.
Another distinguished guest will be Professor Tetsuo Aida is the Vice-Department Chair of Materials Design and Engineering at the School of Sustainable Design, University of Toyama (Japan). His research expertise includes plasticity engineering, material manufacturing, and plasticity processes. His team focuses on the plasticity and processing of materials, including molding processes for magnesium and aluminum alloys, microstructure control, resin injection molding, and mold design.
The conference is organised by the group Microscopy for Materials Science, Electron Microscopy Department, ISI CAS, under the leadership of Dr. Šarka Mikmeková.
